Something's up
Last year, Pixar's annual reports were sent out in mid-May. This year we haven't seen any indication of the annual report. (I left a message for Bryn Richardson at Pixar's investor relations asking her to post a message on the Pixar web site when the Annual Reports become available.)
Last year, Pixar's annual meeting was in mid-June. As of today, Pixar has not announced a date for their annual meeting. Their web site (last updated May 17th) says, "The date for the annual meeting of shareholders will be announced shortly."
I would assume that Pixar would be required to give a reasonable amount of time (1 month?) to announce their annual meeting, so it looks like the annual meeting won't be held until July at the earliest.
Why is Pixar waiting to release their Annual Report and hold their annual meeting?
A. Some new project, that Steve Jobs wants to have ready to knock everyone's socks off, is not quite ready. Jobs is waiting until he can blow his audience away before holding the annual meeting. To quote a Pixar employee from an interview last month: "There are some other things that we're working on, but it's too early to talk about them." How about talking about them at the annual meeting? (NOTE TO ANYONE ATTENDING THE MEETING: If you have an opportunity, PLEASE ask about those other projects.)
B. Waiting until a new CFO has been found.
C. Waiting for the TS2 trailer to hit theaters.
D. Disney has screwed Pixar.
E. All of A, B, and C
I vote for E. |
