The ComUNITY Access system enables cable operators to establish private, secure VPNs for business applications such as corporate telecommuting or remote access.

CMTO's the only one with secure VPNs, at least on their ATM-based equipment.

And you're absolutely right on standards having little to do with quality. They don't test scalability, reliability or speed, for example.

Unfortunately the stock market's not looking at quality either.
