Session downloading of Java-enabled games is the only way for now to circumvent the slow speed for narrow band users. Another option of course is to run the games off of a local CD ROM. Even when wide band access becomes more prevalent, rich graphics served through a single T1 may continue to be a problem. Surprisingly, there was no mention of the deployment of aggregated T3's or co-located servers which will ultimately be required to deliver the level of service customers expect. A year wait for a T1 line? My advice would be to pack up the servers and go somewhere else. Also, an observation of today's press release. The company for some reason mentions only development companies as it's competitors and not the hundreds of other gaming franchises it actually competes with. Web sites are compared to web sites and vendors are compared to vendors. There are striking similarities to NWDP (World Wide Web Casinos) press releases where their CEO has done likewise and has come under a great deal of scrutiny.
