Is this not the wildly speculative advanced optics thread?

Beam splitting to fine grain requires interpretation and that means electro-optical transduction. A component channel can be separated opto-mechanically, but what it contains needs interpretation to send it to the proper destination. Or does it? Frequency specific standardized signatures may eliminate the need for pre-appliance interpretation. Does this make sense? Are we talking about the same thing?
