Here's the Rumor!! I spoke with a broker-friend of mine. He said the rumor is out that intc will miss sales this quarter and eps will be below expectations. Rumor also includes that intc's price reductions are steeper than usual designed to shore up sagging sales. He also emphasized that these are rumors and he believes that this is the same nonsense that occurs at about this time every quarter. His digging fails to assign any credibility to rumors. His firm has its suspicions as to source of rumor (certain analyst and his firm who likes to generate rumors this time each quarter and apparent client letter telling clients to sell intc). If I can get my hand on copy of letter I will post it here complete with identifying letterhead.
