I will never tell any one to buzz off. It is not the question of opposing point of views. I am never afraid of disagreeing with logical arguments while presenting my case. It is the choice of your phrases that makes me feel like "I don't have to waste my time on this."
Yes, it has to do with your combative writing style. You are very opinionated and insist that your logic is better than the other's. At the same time, you accuse them of being illogical. You won't win an argument that way. Not because you have a better point. But 'cause no one sees a point in arguing with you.
If only you can re-read whatever you posted and do some self examination, you will realize that you indulge in writing phrases that draw the ire of the person on the receiving end. Yes, you "appear" to be polite but it never reads that way. Ask any third person he/she will tell you. If you want an example of this, just look at the post I am replying to:

Not only you appear to be convinced that I am nervous about opposing points of view, but you seem to imply that a) I have a closed mind for other views b) I am being a chicken. Whether or not you intended these is irrelevant. What is relevant is that for any person who reads this post will get that impression. [IF ANYONE DISAGREES WITH ASSESSMENT, PLEASE POST.]
It ain't so. Rather, my reaction will be to the tone of your argument rather than the content. If you were new to this board, I would have given you the benefit of doubt and responded in a pleasant manner. But you are not new. I believe that is why you get so much bad rap on the myth thread or on MB thread. NOT BECAUSE YOU LOVED DELL which we hate. Of course, Mike Burke is known to have a mountain of patience. But not all of us do. BTW, inserting a "g" of a smiley will not make the combative style more tolerable.
A long reply to your short note. Remember one thing before you take offense to what I just said. If I wanted to ignore your post, I could have! But I didn't.
To your credit, I want to tell you that you do have enough thick skin to survive in this world. Especially on the myth thread. -g- |
