Not sure that that's a positive. I believe that market pros regard a large short position as bullish, since short of complete collapse in the stock price, all those shorts will eventually cover by buying the stock. Sometimes, one even sees upward explosions in a stock's price caused by what is called a short squeeze. A rising price panics some short sellers who rush to buy, further raising the price which panics still more short sellers, etc. That game works great when there is a really large short position. The positive for AMD holders is that fewer folks are betting that AMD will drop in price.
