How significant was the CNBC report?

The Paul Allen / Charter / Falcon / deal was covered.

It mentioned Charter now has officially become a major player with 5.5 million subscribers. Wall Street commonly views the 5 million to be the magic # to become a major player according to the report.

It specifically referred to the Go2Net investment and Go2Net's recent hiring of the technology specialist in developing the broadband future of his "wired world".

I believe this is the 2nd cable aquisition for Mr. Allen in as many weeks with a rumor reporting that he has 2 other deals pending.

Russell Horowitz has stated his belief that there will be 5 or 6 major portals in the future. With Charter presently the 4th largest cable provider ( and growing ), what does this mean for Go2Net's ability to grow into the broadband future?

All JMO!
