But when God came to earth, He went to the cross to die and reveal that He is love. If he had told us that He loved us but had done nothing about it, we would have had every right to doubt it. If He had arranged the stars across the sky in constellations that spelled out the phrase "God is love," man would have had a right to lift himself in his misery, shake his fist toward the stars and cry, "I don't believe you." But when the eternal God comes in Jesus Christ to put Himself in the hands of men that we may wreak our wrath on Him and reveal what we really are, then there is also revealed what He really is.
