Vancouver

The Kyl Bill is the "phantom
menace" of the American online
gaming industry. Next month, leaders
in the online gaming industry will
discuss how to confront Senator
Kyl's latest proposal at the first
annual "Interactive Gaming Summit
& Exposition" in Vancouver,
Canada. Alan R. Schneider,
executive director of the Interactive
Gaming Council, believes, "Like Las
Vegas in the 1950s, regulation will
evolve with technology and time;
however, prohibition does nothing
more than freeze American
regulators out of the process. While
imperfect, prohibition may be an
adequate solution in the short term.
No one doubts that regulation is the
answer for those thinking past the
2000 elections."
Casino Journal has the details.
