Richard, When ADX start declining that does not always indicate that no trend exist anymore or that the trend has ended. It indicates that the trend is losing momentum and coming to a near end. VHF creates a lot more wipsaws then ADX and gives many more false signals. I have read many books and all authors recommend using ADX but I have seen no one discuss VHF at all.
