Mike: While prudently waiting for Teflon, need to float an idea here. Whither routers? Are routers going to be the key lock for Cisco? I submit not. Seems that Cisco's gorilla characteristics extend well beyond routers and the true lock that Cisco has had is the QOS which the Cisco network operating system (however characterized) delivers. And the constant steady innovative changes in that system. And the willingness to innovate around it to extend it outward toward where LU and NT are. And there is the mindspace that Cisco enjoys. Suggest that a slowing of router growth or even the disappearance of routers would not in itself kill the gorilla. What thinkest thou? Chaz too
