Glad to see you have calmed down Frank ;-)

This post is actually directed at the DELL thread in general.

This really isn't about DELL - It's about the box stocks in general. Regardless of the little upticks in Gateway and CPQ. DELL uses the Inet and everyone knows that. But people are buying into what IBM and HP are saying. That they will be the real beneficiaries of the Inet.

CPQ has tried to adapt and has all but failed to date.
IBM for the past four to six months has stated it is basically leaving the PC market.
INTEL will make microprocessors but they are branching into server farms and other INET ventures
MSFT is running full force on WIN CE, WEB TV, set top and other Inet devices as well as web services. Why are these great companies doing this? Do they recognize something about PC's in general that we don't. After all, it was WINTEL that provided the ammunition for DELL and CPQ to achieve their dominance. When WINTEL begins to turn the rudders on their supertanker and branch out into new avenues does it mean the game is changing?

All must ask themselves, has the game changed? Yes, it is important to be long on great stocks but one must constantly evaluate the environment, has it changed? How will it effect my company? I like DELL, I have no shares now and I will watch from the sidelines. However, the collective sense of the thread shows that people are not thinking with their brains and using logic. They continue to say it will just go up because that is what DELL does. Well they could be right (We just may see dell sitting at $60 by Christmas). It's just that it is in their best interest to ask the hard questions of themselves.

Mark Twain wrote: "Put all your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket." Well if people have all their eggs or 80% of their eggs in the DELL basket - which many do on this thread - they do themselves a great disservice by not taking off the blinders.

IMHO
