Some more Info: During Fiscal 1999, the company pruchased a total of 632,000 shares of its common stock, and as of January 31, 1999 had 465,000 shares remaining available to pruchase pursuant to existing authorization. All shares pruchased are being held in the company's treasurey for possible future use. Since fiscal year 2000 began in February, REX has initiated new advertising and marketing programs which have already generated impressive results (a 12% increase in comp store sales). REX Stores also added Maytag appliances and Sony consumer electronics. Hopefully, the Maytag and Sony lines will attract additional consumers to REX Stores and provide ongoing opportunities to increase comparable store sales! Again, REX's first quarter, which ended April 30, comparable store merchandise rose 12% including a variety of digital products. EPS estimates are .16 compared to .13 last year. Kevin Michael
