lw.....ya don't mind if i call you lw?...."westmoreland" gives me flashbacks... thanks your comments on advertising and pr...many critical about any comment about "mikey"...but he is not a deity, he is a superb opportunist, has used what gates and grove gave him, with perfect execution...my concern is silence, if i'm in an industry that my competitors have declared dead (gerstner/platt/pfeiffer), that it changes the "perception" of the stellar performer...reality, not an issue with stock price...ibm,hwp, down play pc's and sell the future of the net, as in the backbone of e-commerce...dell not saying much..if dell intends to go into the consumer arena with pc's, isp's whatever, they need to gain brand identity...the average consumer of non electronic products probably wouldn't recognize dell...but how many people in the whole wide world have not heard of "big blue"...so when gerstner talks...equity markets believe...
