A LITTLE MORE INFO: In an April 1, 1999 press release REX Stores announced the commencement of its consumer electronics sales through Amazon.comAuctions. REX Stores announced that it will sell audio and video equipment for Amazon.comAuctions, a recently launched service from Amazon. REX has commenced sales on the new site. REX will offer a wide variety of products through the Auctions service, each with a description, photograph, minimum bid price and manufactures' warranty. The relationship with Amazon.comAuctions represents an initial test to REX Stores' Internet e-commerce strategy, providing access to Amazon's nearly 8 million registered customers while leveraging REX Stores distribution and buying capabilities.
