Hi gonzongo, Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. It seems that I have rubbed more then one person the wrong way on this thread. My apologies.

You can use many different settings for every indicator and you can test it and debate the subject but to me that won't be very useful.
I could spend sometime learning how to box and test different punches but I will never be nearly as good as Tyson. John Murphy and Martin Prings are the Tysons of TA in my opinion. I use their conclusions on the best indicators and how to use them. It is a lot easier for me to learn from them then to get into testing so many indicators with so many different settings. The job is endless.

Take the following real life example. In the seventies(could be sixties) markets were trending. Most institutions that used MA made out well. The following decade most of them lost their pants because they used MA but markets were not trending so MA worked against them. By the time you find that you were wrong about your conclusion about an indicator based on your testing, you may not have enough money left to play the market.

Good luck to everyone and I won't probably be posting any more memos on this thread. This is your thread so you decide who is welcome and who is not.

Good trading.
