I think it is basically service and presentation that make Eagle better than Home Depot or HomeBase. Eagle seems to be nicer, not grungy like a typical hardware store. They also have higher end stuff which I look for. The biggest difference though is the people. They really know their stuff. My mom was actually hired by Eagle to do salespeople checks, ie she went in pretending to be a customer, asked lots of questions, and then returned an evaluation of the employees. This attention by Eagle really impressed me. I also like how they have those little do-it-yourself pamphlets. I haven't seen them at the other hardware stores. - Jeff
