12 months may not be enough if you believe that the Cendant model is relevant. CDs accounting disaster hit in April 1998. At that time it took an immediate hit from about 40 to about 19. Yesterday, over one year later, it closed at 19 and change. To regain credibility the company has been selling off assets as fast as possible--not exactly a positive story.

There are differences of course between these two companies and perhaps the CD model doesn't apply completely. One thing that MCK must do in short order, however, is purge current management. Heads must roll. Even if all the accounting errors are identified by the end of June, investors will still own a company run by unscrupulous people that may do more unscrupulous things in the future.
