you are wrong. You are right to say that there is no official benchmarks were released but I am not sure if Klamath benchmarks are released either. But as far as it goes with non-official tests amd has a conducted a number of demos in which k6 was runnning and compared with ppro. Those tests were done Goldman sachs and other investment firms. The results were released on "1st call direct" and some on "1st call research". According to to the various articles the k6 is substantially faster than ppro with 16 bit OS and marginally faster running nt. The more tech but less official is Tom's comarison of k6 and klamath. I was not particularly impressed with the Tom's claims until NYT has confirmed that whatever he was saying was not just claims but facts.
BTW my goal in life is not to convince you that k6 is better. I would like to hear the justifications for the claims that intel is superior investment. I was invested in intel before and it did pay off very well but even before it hit $100 I became convinced that the present value of future distributable earnings can not justify any price over $100. Keep in mind that that was without even considering that amd might take market share from intel.
Aagain, I am not hear to argue whose chip is better (or better yet superior) -- that is a job for Humble Carl and Rod. I am an investor and I am interested in stock prices.
