Spend at least $1500, be sure to get a new printer and consider multi-media (like scanner and speakers), get at least a 15" monitor (17" is preferable).

Get Intel chip or an AMD, NOT Cyrix. Get the fastest Pentium II chip out (450 Mhz) or get the best Pentium III you can afford.

At least 32 Meg harddrive, v.90 56kbs modem (consider getting cable modem if you have cable internet service in your area and not too expensive (WAY FAST!!).

Hmmm, what else. Good luck. Check out Best Buy and see if you can get it interest free for a year and make payments.
