NASD-BB "TGCC" TERAGLOBAL Announces Cinetech's Initial Purchase Order
San Diego, California. TERAGLOBAL Communications Corp. is pleased to announce receipt of an initial Purchase Order from Cinetech Labs, an industry leading film restoration and preservation company. Under the Purchase Order, TERAGLOBAL will provide a full suite of TERAMEDIA multimedia digital communications and collaboration technology services (which were developed under the code name of TERACOM). The initial service agreement is valued at approximately $1,100,000 over three years.
"We are delighted to announce this initial Purchase Order from a leader in the Motion Picture Industry which is one of our target markets," said David Fann, Chief Executive Officer and Director of TERAGLOBAL.
TERAGLOBAL and Cinetech Converge On Voice, Video, Data (VVD)
Under the terms of the purchase order TERAGLOBAL will begin providing TERAMEDIA services including 2-way, real-time voice and video, and data networking. TERAMEDIA's innovative design provides clients, such as Cinetech, with a secure, private Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) based high-speed communications and collaboration network. The TERAMEDIA services include a suite of network savvy collaboration applications, which will enhance Cinetech's recognized information systems leadership.
"Applying TERAMEDIA services to Cinetech's film and video workflow demonstrates our passion for customer service through innovation," said Sean Coughlin, President of Cinetech Labs of Burbank, California. TERAMEDIA point-to-point and point-to-multipoint (or broadcast mode) live, 2-way video collaboration services will reduce travel and increase productivity for Cinetech. "I can use a TERAMEDIA workstation to reach my entire company, have a one-on-one conversation with someone on my staff, and ultimately be face to face with one of my clients in seconds." Mr. Coughlin explained. Interactive white boards, network-based content creation tools and contact management services will enable Cinetech's artists, technicians and engineers to quickly form collaborative groups, regardless of their location.
  Collaboration Goes To Hollywood
"Los Angeles is known for it's trafficŠ" said Coughlin, "and a meeting today means everyone jumps into cars, fights the gridlock and looks for parking." TERAMEDIA services were developed specifically for organizations that need to take the "distance" out of commuting, collaboration or training/learning. A "TERACAST" can bring together from several people to potentially several thousand, with a single click on a group address name in TERAMEDIA's Contact Manager. Using TERAMEDIA is faster than dialing the phone and you never have to leave your files, or other resources behind.
   TeraMEDIA is a Communication Service
TERAMEDIA is a communications service that provides everything needed for communications and collaboration, under a single Service Agreement. TERAGLOBAL provides complete service and support of the communications network, unlike existing network competitors that sell individual hardware and software components that become obsolete. "When you buy a hardware-based compressor/decompressor (CODEC) or any other electronic equipment, you are buying a 'snapshot' of technology at that moment," said Grant Holcomb, TERAGLOBAL's Chief Technology Officer. TERAGLOBAL's innovative approach provides media-rich services, without the costs of owning, maintaining, upgrading and depreciating capital equipment.
