Rex,

I think what you are implying is the fact that a PCMCIA or dedicated CF slot could potentially become a standard PC appliance and the market for it needs to be addressed. I have found the device user friendly and the software was easy to install. My device has a one inch velcro strip on the bottom and is affixed to the top of my tower for easy access. This way it doesn't slip off and it is also easier to insert the CF card firmly.

Iomega has done us a big favor by getting "plug 'n' play" an everyday term and by eliminating the notion of "plug 'n' pray" for many PC users. Hopefully Image Mate is reaching a more mature, experienced user audience because of IOM's efforts. It is too bad that they already laid claim to Jazz, Buz, Zip, and Clik! Those could be great alternative names for Image Mate.

I hope that SanDisk marketing can take this somewhere. You know, like the translucent iMAC campaign. All sorts of colors, flavors and shapes for Image Mate.

I was thinking of a Star Wars line with the first two being an R2D2 Image Mate with a CF slot and lights on the front face or dome. Also, the Jabba drive where the CF goes into Jabba's mouth and the eyes turn from yellow (powered up) to green (reading card).
