Ah !... Hockey, yes, the ice-fight where sometimes a Hockey game brakes out <g>
Yes, I like it, however I do not understand why the refs. allow all the fighting ?... if you want to fight then go the boxing route... why waste your time with the skating part ?
In Soccer if you get caught kicking your opponent outside of an accidental, "in play" kick, (or similar)...
You are given a red card, out for the rest of the game, (the team loses a player, NO REPLACEMENT)... PLUS you can not play for two additional games! (in a World Cup, or important tournament, such as the European Cup, or Copa Libertadores de América, such foolish behavior will cost the team the match).
Last year, in the World Cup, England was taken out of the Cup against Argentina, precisely because one of the England players kicked an Argentinean player (without the ball).... he was caught, given a red card, out for the game, England was left with ten players....and lost.
In Hockey... After you "stick the opponent to mush", you are told, bad boy ! out for 5 or 10 minutes (depends if the other guy lost his eye or not)... and that's it... Plus I think the team can replace the penalized player, no ?
I like strictly the hockey part, the speed and the skill... the fighting, you can have it... as I said, if you want to fight... go boxing.
Who do you think will reach the Stanley cup finals....?
This is an interesting brief history of US Soccer.....
