Ore. The naturally occurring material from which a mineral(s) (metal) of economic value can be extracted at a reasonable profit.

IOW, in order to make sure that you have an orebody of X tons, you must do enough exploration to prove that X tons exist and that they contain X quantity of recoverable metals per ton.

You must also do a study that will confirm that the metals can be recovered at a profit in a commercial operation.
