I like strictly the hockey part, the speed and the skill... the fighting, you can have it... as I said, if you want to fight... go boxing. Oh , I absolutely agree, the fighting gets ridiculous at times, but there is usually much less during the Playoffs and so you get the real sport. The speed and the hard (legal) hitting. I think both semi final match-ups are fairly even and could go 6 or 7 games but I think the winner of the West(Dallas/Colorado) will likely be the ultimate winner. For soccer in the US, I think its great for kid's, instead of peewee football(us version) but for professional entertainment, it's got too much competition from the majors already. We seem to like the legal violence more than the fine art of the game. Plus we like timeouts so we can go to the beer bar without missing the only goal of the game :)
