Wouldn't the Las Vegas Housing Authority be required by law to accept proposals from any interested and qualified parties? Isn't this effectively saying "we are going to bid on a contract"? Weird thing to put out as news, not that I'm complaining. I assume the Mayor gives them an edge (in Washington DC it was a lock for a long time).

This new appointment sounds like an excellent choice. Good credentials and some good connections.
