What in particular? I guess this means things like the big idea of being the portal for thousands of other retailers & suppliers that won't want their own. Amazon has the banner bar on the left for specials. Recently they had the 1¢ specials for drugstore.com and that was hugely successful apparently (a lot of items were sold out). So for really hot promotions I think amazon already is a portal, and I am negative on portals in general too.
