Sudan: Defence Minister Addresses Oil Defenders' Brigade

Khartoum, May 27 (SUNA)- National Defence Minister Gen. Abdul-Rahman
Siral-Khatim has affirmed capability of the Armed Forces and the People's Defence Forces (PDF) to secure and defend the Sudanese oil areas, referring the recent defeat of the outlaws remnants who attempted to attack the petroleum pipeline.

Addressing Thursday a celebration marking departure of the Brigade of Petroleum Defenders of PDF, Gen. Siral-Khatim said that the process of utilizing the Sudanese oil is progressing satisfactorily and according to plans. He pointed out that exploration and exportation of the Sudanese oil is posing a security, military and economic challenge.

He stressed that exploration and exportation of Sudanese oil will boost the national unity and economy, adding that the Armed Forces will never hesitate in defending the homeland, Constitution and national gains. Gen. Siral-Khatim said that the Armed Forces is keen to upgrade the capabilities of the People's Defence Forces (PDF).

The celebration was also addressed by the General Coordinator of PDF, Ali Kurti, who asserted the PDF's keenness to secure the oil exploration areas all over the country and to repulse the outlaws.
