You'll have to admit that these new investment themes--small caps, basic industries, commodities--are proving to be short lived. We are in the upward wave or the trough of the Kondratieff (sp) commodity wave though. It peaked in the early 70's and has 56 year cycles peak to peak. Fascinating stuff, but given human nature (i.e. boom to bust), quite true. But you still have about 20 years to get on board. Meanwhile I'm betting on explosive growth in a new technology.
