Just curious why people seem to automatically think the symbol/name change for VTPI will have a positive effect on the price -- those actions sure DIDN'T do anything for GRPV, which dropped after changing to TXCI and still hasn't recovered.

Obviously the two companies themselves (VTPI & GRPV) are different, so different factors are involved. I'm just wondering why folks generally seem to attach a positive connotation to a pending symbol/name change. I've been through that with at least three other stocks in recent months, in fact, and in NONE of those cases did the changes lead to any short-term price-boost.

As I said, just curious as to the "psychology" of all this -- have there been a lot of cases where a symbol/name change really HAS helped a stock?...
