Actually, I believe the British invented VX and then they exchanged that knowledge with the US for our information on how to make Thermo-nuclear bombs.

At least I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

As for kicking other people's arses, that is not something that has been exclusive to American history. There has been a lot of that going around throughout the world since recorded history.
