PC, you seem like an OK dude.
Your posts are a bit off topic on this thread, but they are interesting.
I wish we were sitting in the same room, so we could discuss your statement, "everyone is an artist". I think I many know what you are trying to say, but I can't tell for sure.
I will say this: you can say everyone is an artist, but you are, unfortunately, incorrect.
Everyone has the potential of being an artist, but it's tough to call someone an artist if they do not make art. The truth is that some people are artists, and some people are not. Everyone could be, but not everyone is.
Your statement that truly great artists are not recognized by their own generation is also incorrect. All I would have to do is think of one artist that was, and you lose the argument. I can think of ten of the top of my head. If you studied Art History, you would know how silly your statement sounds.
Again, I think maybe I am disagreeing with what you are saying, and not what you are trying to say. Maybe you are arguing just for the sake of argument.
One will run into major trouble when one bases one's understanding of something on absolutes. It would be easier to come to grips with things if one looked at it not from "black and white", but shades of gray.
Truth is simple, but people are complex. |
