No, "they" don't have to act now.

AOL acts when its too their advantage to do so. If you have not been paying attention, T is saying a lot less now. Why? because they can not roll out their cable system as fast as they thought, much less upgrade everything so that some customers, even with a cable modem, require a second phone line to send data back.

Cable is going to end up knocking on AOL's door as DSL begins to flex its muscles.
