Treasury has been clean as evidenced by many sources. They have had no need to intervene. There is the clearance aspect but that is under the auspices of the NY Fed. Foreign central banks have been selling their treasuries. Some believe that this is due to Euro factors or Japanese repatriation, but I believe the sales are due to the recognition that the US is inflating. Where is this inflation? In the minds of Americans and that is where it is the most dangerous and why during and after the '70s no one could figure out what caused inflation. As long as the FED was inducing fear the inflation remained dormant. When Greenspan bailed last Fall the seed was watered and now it is growing. "You had better make sure you get your's while you can", is the growth phase the plant is now in. You can see more tangible evidence in the rising bottoms of cost discounting at supermarkets.
