brees, I did as much as I could to get along with Daniel. He would always end by trying to pick a fight with me. Now you blame me for trying to talk to him reasonably. Well, I tried ignoring him, but he kept going out of his way to get me to react. Remember when I mechanically responded "I am not worthy!"? Finally, I decided to try driving him away myself, which is when I "joined the tag team", late in the game. Tiring of that, I posted some historical and literary material to make him tire of my unresponsiveness, than lapsed into complete silence, which I held all the way up to his departure. I had no "ways to mend". In all of the time that I have been here, Daniel has never been "the victim". What happened before my arrival, I cannot say. But Dan left, and then came back for the express purpose of being disruptive, and he got worse as time went on. So I really don't understand why you are on my case, or defending Daniel. I protected myself against the possibility that he would start spewing while using a name so similar to mine that you were confused for awhile. That was perfectly reasonable on my part. I didn't know that his posting on Go2Net would be a "last straw", but so what? I was sincere in telling him that I would have no truck with him anymore because he had decided upon a "heckler's veto" strategy, similar to shouting down a speaker on a college campus, and didn't seem to be dissuadable. He was the one trying to make rational discussion impossible, as an overt goal.... |
