Surprise!... But I kind of liked Pleasantville. Sure, there were objectionable elements, but the point of the story was not precisely that SEX is the ANSWER (remember, the slutty sister decides to change, and go to college), but that existence is far harder and more dangerous than we commonly believe, or teach our kids about, and I think that this is true. Besides, Joan Allen, William Macy, and Jeff Daniels are just so darned good....
