Examples range from large memory systems used in workstations and servers to PC main memory and small memory systems used in graphics and consumer electronics. here is a bit more from ibm chips.ibm.com here is a bit from ti in february...ti is using rambus in communications apps now. ti.com clip...Rambus memory architecture is one of the most widely licensed technologies in the semiconductor industry. Currently, over 50 companies are committed to deliver Direct Rambus technology within their products, including 15 DRAM manufacturers, 20 logic IC suppliers and 25 manufacturers of system-memory implementation products. the question is where is all this rambus going? all of this is not supporting pc's. i think between now and early next year we are all going to be shocked at how many consumer products will be announced using rambus. we will continue to be shocked into the future. we joked here about rdram in washing machines yesterday...it may not be a joke. the interconnected home design now being done has every appliance and system in the house tied together. flat panel displays are planned for unused real estate in your home such as microwave and refrigerator doors. interactive digital tv will be available later this year. the tv will have rambus inside. the dvd you use with it will have rambus inside. you will be reading recipes from the net on your refr door. i think the cellphone changes envisioned over the next 2 years will lead to rmbs inside. i expect we will be in palm tops shortly as well. unclewest a huge surprise may be when we find out what uses folks have for the recently announced strongarm processor by intel. intel likes to dominate. power to them...remember intel said "rambus is the memory technology of the foreseeable future."
