You are welcome Terrence. This looks very promising indeed. The results are distributed among many workers with no clear star arising other than it looks as if Hawking is going to lose another bet. He is getting left behind fast not because he is not bright but because he is not active in the field. Also others have a much better handle on the mathematics involved. String theory now has many successes but because of the lack of experimental tests available at present more will be necessary before people get confident. That moment is fast approaching however and it will not be too long before some will care to speculate about outlandish proposals such as space-time travel and the like.
