<<So Richard, you think it is probable that Greenspan set up the fear to nip buying stocks on margin by knocking stocks down, causing a correction in the process even though inflation is not that imminent?>>
Ah, this is the rub. there is massive inflation. Have you checked out home prices in the top 300 markets? Asset inflation? Higher oil prices(though this could well be seen as only reflation)? The common tomato here in the Denver market(winter prices) is up around 50% in the last two years. My wife runs a food service operation in an industrial setting and is fighting for a price increase due to the higher costs of labor and materials. Don't even start onto the manipulated lower price of gold which is contained so as to work the last of the old school economists and confirm their dear "new paradigm" concept for those uninformed in history(Oh yes, and let's not forget to assure a - now soon ending - revenue stream for the shorts).

I would take care, and not consider the words of Dr. Greenspan idle threats. He can and will drop the boom, and I believe wants to take back the Asian / Russian gifts of last year(and even maybe the bail-out gift to the shorts).

GO GATA!
