It is simply abhorrent for us to buy "beanie babies" and the like produced by slave labor in Chinese prisons when it is produced by those who should not be in prison in the first place. Our trade and diplomatic policies should reflect this.

For starters, I think we should stop making irresponsible statements such as above. The US incarcerates more of its citizen than any other nation. Our chain gangs are still in existence, not to mention the prison race gangs. It may be embarrassing if we open our prison system to an UN Human Rights Commission.

Of course, we don't have prison labor here, we just call them it rehab.

Finally, I am somewhat surprised by your post because I always thought you know better. Your post clearly illuminates the problem of our foreign policies. It seems like opinions and decisions are made with very little regards to facts.
