Howdy. I've also been watching Charlie Rose this week. Great set of programs focussed on Silicon Valley. Grove and Chambers were tremendous. I was espescially interested in Grove's statement that while the PC will not be as dominant as it has been -- indeed it already is not -- it will nonetheless still be the central piece of computing equipment with handheld devices and such being essentially PC peripherals which will still be reliant on PCs. That these devices will support and enhance the PC, not supplant it.

I hope he is right, but I can't but wonder if these small and less efficient devices might not be the "disruptive technology" that was the subject of the program the night before when Rose interviewed the author of "The Innovator's Dilemma." I have a palm pilot but find that it is more useful as a paperweight than an organizer. But in a couple of years, who's to say. Looks very much like a "disruptive technology" to me.

Haven't had a chance to buy "The Innovator's Dilemma" yet, but plan to get it this weekend. It seems very relevant to DELL's current business position.

I also heard Chamers' comment about 60% sequential growth per quarter. I thought he was referring to CSCO though, not the internet. (Did I get that wrong?) This is hard to believe, but I'm going to be taking a closer look at CSCO!

Cheers.
