ed, re: .the "cloud" was an interesting analogy of the future...i took this as the computing being done in the "cloud", not the desk top.. 1. Normal representation of "the network" on overheads is a "cloud", especially when being drawn by those who aren't network engineers. 2. I formed the impression that Andy G sees computing and communicating converging right within the home. In other words, the current home PC or the desktop PC would evolve to a device with more communication capability than seen in today's modem or e/net card equipped device. I don't see this as being any different than the vision that the home PC will evolve into home server which is also used as a home PC. We'll probably see the answer sooner than we expect. And, by that time Dell will be a much more valuable company. FWIW, Ian.
