Four Cents Per Share; Forty-Eighth Consecutive Quarterly Dividend
ATLANTA, May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Home Depot (NYSE: HD), the world's largest home improvement retailer, today announced that its Board of Directors declared a 33% increase in the quarterly cash dividend from three cents per share to four cents per share, payable June 24, 1999, to stockholders of record at the close of business June 10, 1999.

This is the forty-eighth consecutive quarter that the company has paid a cash dividend.

Founded in 1978, The Home Depot employs approximately 180,000 associates. For six consecutive years, the company has been recognized as America's Most Admired Specialty Retailer by Fortune magazine. Home Depot stock is publicly traded and is included in the Standard & Poor's 500 index.
