sandintoes,

i personally think you did the wrong thing for your daughter.

is the money in the mutual fund money that she has saved and is planning to use for different things one day ? can she afford to lose it ? how will it effect her if she does lose it ? these are just a few questions you have to ask before putting yourself in today's stock market. especially high growth volitale stocks, and even more so obviously internet stocks.

will she get her money back and much more ? probably, but like i say, if you cant afford to lose it, and it will not effect your daily life then you should be in a different investment vehicle. something maybe more value oriented until she has enough money to take some risks. in other words would you go to vegas and let it ride on the craps table or something with the money ? probably not. maybe she can afford to lose it though, in which case she should be adding more now instead of thinking of selling it at a loss and waiting for it to come back to your price point. which is another thing. if i want to invest my money in a company, i for sure know that i can not time the market or any individual stock perfectly. the chances of you hitting at a dead low everytime are slim and none. so, i just buy up to half of the position i want in a stock. then i wait to see where it goes and accumulate from then on.
