TO ALL:

I recently e-mailed Howard Burris again and asked when we might get some further details regarding the R&D agreement with the major international firm alluded to in the recent 10Q. I suggested to him that perhaps once potential investors hear the details of the arrangement, we might see some positive activity in the stock price which in turn might lead to more possibilities for financing. I thought I should share Howard's response to my e-mail. I'll paste it here:

"I know you understand that I cannot suggest that any announcement about this particular activity would lead to a higher or a lower stock price.  I have no idea what the market would do with such an announcement, good or bad.

Having said that, we will be submitting our results to the customer in late July or early August. We believe that we have every reason to be confident that our part of this R&D effort will work well within the customer's operating requirements.  It will, though, be up to the customer to decide that the other components will prove tractable.  Then the customer will have to decide if they want to move forward with the program.  Ceteris paribus, as the economists say, I am cautiously optimistic about the program, and we will all learn of the outcome probably in mid-August.  In the interim we continue to deal with all of the Balance Sheet issues and the fairly difficult operation of the company."

What do you guys think? Maybe this will finally be the year that SMS turns the corner.
