Again, the technology for laser hair removal has really never been the question--long pulsed (or Q-switched for that matter) ruby lasers have been around for a long time. The problem has always been how to protect the epidermis from unwanted damage while targeting the hair follicle. Palomar's EpiLase seems to have come up with a good answer in their (patented) cooling delivery system. As MEHL/Biophile, Laser Industries (aka Sharplan), etc., rush to ride the hair removal bandwagon and introduce ruby lasers, they must resolve the "heated" issue of epidermal damage--Palomar has they edge because they already have the point addressed.
