Dead mouse:

My mouse started sticking -- something that cleaning usually fixes, but this time didn't bring it all the way back to smooth operation. I noticed if I lifted the mouse a little, letting the track ball ride a little more firmly against the rollers, it worked fine.

Actually, I had discovered this a while ago, and back then tried to get a little height adjustment by putting some duct tape on the bottom of the mouse. May have helped, but it was a little rough in texture, so the mouse didn't slide as nicely along the mouse-pad as it had before. But I did get many months of use out of it after that.

This time (same mouse) it occurred to me to use Elmer's glue: It dries hard and clear and smooth. Didn't put too much on -- too much and the track ball won't contact the mouse pad.

Works sweet -- so far. Won't be using it too much though as I just got a new Logitech mouse. Very nice! Always used to have the bargain basement type.
