San Telmo Finds Visible Gold at El Condor - Argentina May 28, 1999

A field geologist at Vancouver-based San Telmo Resources (VSE: STA) yesterday reported findings of visible gold in quartz taken from surface samples at the company's El Condor/Crown Jewel gold prospect in southern Argentina's Santa Cruz province, San Telmo president Christopher Dyakowski told BNA.

San Telmo holds nine individual prospects in Santa Cruz province covering some 29,500ha in the Deseado Massif mountain range. The largest of these, the El Condor/Crown Jewel claim, encompasses almost 15,000ha. West of Crown Jewel is a cluster of five prospects: Aguila, Gaviota, Leon, Brisa and Hielo. Preliminary exploration and mapping at Gaviota has traced a mineralized vein extending 2km and spanning 20m at its widest point. Surface samples on Gaviota returned assays of up to 1.89g/t gold and 90g/t silver, Dyakowski said.

The other two prospects, Evie and Eggs, are further west and cover around 1,400ha each, approximately 3km north and south of Yamana Resources' Bacon silver-gold find. No exploration results are available from these prospects.

San Telmo's Dyakowski filed for exploration rights last year after Luxembourg-based Minorco dropped the properties in the wake of a company restructure. Very little exploration had been carried out on these prospects when San Telmo acquired them, he said.
