Ian and Marc: Whoa, you guys seem to have a difference of opinion on this issue regarding the Fed. and whether it should consider or does consider a wealth effect in its deliberations and to what extent if at all. I think that is where the difference opinion starts anyway. And I am not sure there is any KNOWN answer to all the facets of this question so I hate to see you guys start snipping at one another over this point. I sort of wish you guys would try to identify where your differences in opinion start and end by questioning one another if you wanted to discuss it further. I get the feeling if we were all sitting around a bar and talking about this as opposed to discussing it in writing over the internet that we may have more in common on this subject than any of us may think at first blush. This internet thing does have its limitations. BUT if the Fed. announced its bias, in part, so as to confuse us so we would not focus on buying more stock, then it has certainly done its job in that respect <g>. All of you guys (Carl, Mr. GJ, Marc and yourself) presented your arguments well. BUT let's get back to what really matters. Has anyone seen Ralphie yet <g>?
